About the Bee

The Moore Civics Bee is one of the many National Civics Bee® competitions promoted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. This event aims to inspire young Americans to engage in civic education and make meaningful contributions to their communities. Open to 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students, the competition challenges participants to showcase their civics knowledge for a chance to earn recognition and cash prizes. Finalists from Moore will advance to the State Competition, with the potential to move on to the National Civics Bee® Championship in Washington D.C. in 2025.

Why Civics?

At the Moore Chamber of Commerce, we are proud to participate in the National Civics Bee because we believe that informed and active citizens are the foundation of a strong country, a thriving economy, and a resilient workforce. Furthermore, our continued prosperity relies on the strength of all three. Through the Civics Bee, we are not only encouraging greater civic knowledge in Oklahoma but also celebrating our shared civic pride and responsibility.

Learning about civics isn’t limited to the classroom – it occurs at school, at home, and at work.
Because workplaces are one place where all races, religions, and ages congregate, business is uniquely positioned to help ensure that the next generation of Americans has the knowledge, skills, and disposition to take a productive role in civic life.
